Where has the Word of God Gone?

I suppose the better way of saying this would be; Where has the Word of God been left?  It has been left in the Bible, hidden away beneath the different ideals of men and women who claim to know a better way of getting to know God and a better way of releasing God's powers and gifts to you.

One might ask, "Why do I think the Word of God has disappeared?  Fair question, but an easy one to answer.  The last time you were in Church or listened to a preacher on TV, did you hear the Word of God from the Bible just as God intended it to be heard, or did you have to really think about what you were hearing and wonder where that came from?  The True Word of God will quicken your heart and pierce it like a two edged sword.  It will give you an understanding of who and what God and Jesus and The Holy Spirit truly are like.  We all wish to feel good, but that is not the true message that the Bible tells us.  We can be happy for sure, but if you live your life only wanting to experience the "feel good" things, then you are not fulfilling the great commission that The Lord Jesus commanded us to fulfill. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:" Matthew 28:19.  If we are fulfilling this commandment, then we are certainly experiencing some very negative aspects of life and what is going on around us.  The problem we all seem to have is that we are so busy trying to make ourselves happy in this lifetime that we forget that Jesus promised us that we would be persecuted, Mark 13:13 "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved" and furthermore in Luke 21:16 "And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death."  So as you can see, to truly follow Jesus is not a walk in the park, not a day at the ballgame, not a life of perpetual picnics and ice cream socials.  To truly follow Jesus is work.  Sometimes hard work, but preachers today want you to believe that life can be all joyousness, all fun and games with everyone living like a king or queen with lots of money and all the nice things in life. They teach that Jesus wants you to be wealthy like he was.  This is a big lie perpetrated by these preachers for the Bible tells us no such thing.  Jesus probably had a house at one time but nothing in the Scriptures even eludes to Him having any great wealth.

Even though mentioned in previous articles, we must once again ask this question.  When was the last time you heard or saw a church service where repentance was preached and an alter call for forgiveness was asked.  There are some churches that still have alter calls, but the majority of the time they are alter calls for things like: financial needs, job needs and the such.  True repentance, turning from your sin, admitting you are a sinner and need Jesus are things you do not hear very often in the Churches anymore.  One very prominent preacher from San Antonio, Texas, John Hagee, has held numerous services lately on his new book: What every man wants in a woman, What every woman wants in a man.  This is a travesty!  While this may be a popular subject for day to day living, what does this have to do with the Salvation Message and the spreading of the Gospel?  Nothing!  This type of service is just a ruse to make things just as they are, all fluff and no meat.  No TRUE Word of God, just more stuff to make our lives easier and more convenient and prosperous.  If a preacher wants to write a book like this, that is fine.  Write the book, put it on the market and sell as many copies as possible and hope people get some good out of it.  BUT, do not make it the Church Service week after week just so you can sell more books.  Use the church service for what it is supposed to be used for.....Spreading the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ!  I am not trying to pick on John Hagee, because I truly like his style of preaching and he does preach some very good sermons, but unfortunately, he is mixing this type of garbage in with the Word and as Jesus said in Galatians 5:9,  "A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump."

So beware, for there are many others who will lead you astray with their false teaching and their habit of leaving the Word hidden while they preach their own version of the Gospel.  A few people in my humble opinion, who while being good men and women, whom I think you should be aware of are: Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Morris Cerullo, Jesse Duplantis, Fred Price, Rodney Browne, Rod Parsons, Benny Hinn, Paul & Jan Crouch, TBN, Daystar, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson Joel Osteen and others.

The True Word of God has disappeared from the pulpit in most cases.  There are some who still preach the Word, but few indeed.   And, the sad thing is that this type of preaching is beginning to be more and more prominent every day.  God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit must be saddened to no end as they witness this display of debauchery in our churches.

Please, do not take for granted everything you hear from the pulpit or the internet or anywhere else except the Holy Bible.  Use the Bible as a measuring stick against everything you hear and you will know the truth for the truth will set you free!

God Bless You,
Robert Wise
