If we have become one with Christ in His death, we will be
one with Him in being raised from the dead to new life.
To become one with Christ we accept Jesus as our personal Savior. Once we have that assurance of Him being our Savior we become one with Him in a similar manner as we
do when we marry. We become one with our spouse just as God proclaimed in Genesis 2:24, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh."
As many of you know and realize, the longer you are married, the more you and your spouse seem to become one together. You begin to think alike, you know your spouse's thoughts and feelings, their wants and wishes and even more so, you feel their joy and their sorrow just as if it was yours. This is what God wished for us to be like as man and wife.
But, God also had a plan for mankind to become one with Jesus. In Romans 6:5 as shown above, God ordained it to be that
we should also become one with Christ Jesus. We should begin to know Him, to think like him, to know His thoughts and feelings, His wants and wishes and as we grow closer, we begin to feel His joy and His sorrow.
To many of us, marriage is not what it was intended to be through God as He ordained it to be. We do not take marriage serious, simply because we allow our own selfish wishes to become more dominant in our relationship thereby creating a large chasm or gap in our relationship with each other. Likewise, our oneness with Christ also is corrupted in that we allow our own selfish wishes to become the dominant factor in our relationship with Him, causing a similar chasm or gap between us
and Him.
Ask Yourself: Is today my day for a healing in my relationship with my spouse and Christ. Is today my day to begin that New Walk that God, the Almighty, the great I AM, who created me and all things good, wishes for me so that I might become one with Him?
