Please Post Your Comments at the end of the article.  We appreciate your thoughts on this article.

We would ask you to pray about each article we print here.  If the article is about a Preacher or Ministry which we feel is preaching or teaching false doctrine or false teachings, we would ask you to be in prayer that the Lord would touch their hearts and minds so that they might see the error in their ways and turn to the Holy God who is Lord over and of our lives.  We mean no ill will to anyone or any ministry but we must, according to Scripture, warn the people when we see the enemy at work regardless of the nature if it is contrary to God's Word.

Do You Sin Cheaply?
shared by Jason Sanford

I do not intend to make this a great theological treaties I simply want to state a few facts and provide some Biblical evidence for why they are so. There are this morning, thousands if not millions of people walking this earth who if you asked them would say “Oh sure I believe in Jesus” but if you were to examine their lives there would be no clear evidence that this is so. The Lord said:

Mat 7:16  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Mat 7:17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

Mat 7:18  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Mat 7:19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Mat 7:20  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

The simple question that we must all ask ourselves is this, am I bringing forth good fruit or evil fruit. To take it a step further because I can hear some people now saying “well brother your shouldn't judge other people.” I beg to differ:

Joh 7:24  Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Im not saying that we get to lord over people and say “well look what they did they obviously aren't saved.” As a matter of fact if you find yourself with that attitude it shows a lack of humility and you need to repent. You do not know what that person may be going through, you do not know all the details of their lives, you may think you do, but I can tell you from personal experience that is not always the case. I am saying, however, that if you look at someone and they continually run out to the bar getting drunk or doing drugs or chasing women/men and living a life of promiscuity and it never seems to phase them, they never seem to care that while they claim to believe in Jesus that they do everything that He said in His word not to do. If this is the case, then chances are very good that they do not in fact know Jesus as their Savior. A saved person may slip up and fall into sin for a season, but I promise you as sure as I live and breath if they are truly saved and have the Holy Spirit living inside of them, God will punish them for it and God will turn them around.

Heb 12:5  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

Heb 12:6  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Heb 12:7  If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Heb 12:8  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Notice verse 8, “But if ye be without chastisement” if you can sin and sin and sin and sin and God never convicts you in your heart, you never feel bad about what you have done, then the writer of Hebrews has a dire warning for you. First off he points out that all that are saved will be chastised, hey we are still human we will still sin, we didn't become super holy sinless beings when we repented and trusted in Jesus, we simply became forgiven! Moving on though, if you are never convicted of your sin, if you can cheaply sin, meaning it never bothers you, you never regret what you have done, “then ye are bastards, and not sons.” The word bastard, for those that don't know, means fatherless, in this context it means that God is not your father, if that is the case then you are surely lost and on your way to a devils hell.

I'll ask the question again, do you sin cheaply? I can not answer that question for you, only you know the answer. My point here is not to make saved people doubt their salvation, my point is to make people who are trusting in a false profession made at the prompting of someone else, for whatever reason it was made, to stop, take a look at their life and realize that all is not as it seems.

2Co 13:5  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Php 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

“Examine yourselves” and “work out your own salvation with FEAR AND TREMBLING.” When was the last time you bowed your head and wept because you realized you had done wrong before the Lord? When was the last time that you were afraid because you knew that you had done wrong? I can hear some people now, “well you shouldn't have to be afraid of God.” If that is your attitude then you don't know the God of the Bible. The Almighty said in His word that:

Pro_16:6  By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

Pro_23:17  Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Pro_9:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

The Almighty God that created the universe and everything in it is ABSOLUTELY HOLY, meaning that He will not condone sin, He will not overlook sin, sin must be dealt with. The bad news is that Gods laws are eternal and if you break even one of Gods laws, and we all have every day of our lives, then one of two things must happen, either you must pay the penalty yourself, and breaking an eternal law means paying an eternal price. When you die and we all will, you will go to one of two places, heaven or hell. If you die lost, never truly repenting and trusting in Jesus as your Savior then you will find yourself there for all of eternity. There will be no second chance, there will be no escape if you find yourself in hell. So think about that for a moment, let it sink in.

Now the good news, you do not have to go to hell, you do not have to pay the penalty for your sins, someone already did and He did so willingly. Christ left the glory of Heaven, left behind all its beauty and majesty and suffered Himself to be humbled by taking on the form of sinful flesh, and living as one of us so that He might pay the sin debt that we owed to God. He did what we could not do for ourselves.

Rom_5:6  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

I know that many will reject this sacrifice, so precious that only God in the flesh could make it and it saddens me, if however there might be one or more people reading this and they wonder, well what must I do to be saved? It is very simple, I did not say it was easy, for Christ suffered beyond  comprehension, our feeble minds can not even begin to fathom what He went through, to buy our salvation, but He, knowing our weakness made the path to salvation very simple so even the weakest among us could understand. First your must Repent.

Luk 13:2  And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

Luk 13:3  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

What does it mean to repent? It means that you acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. That you confess that you have done wrong and you ask God to forgive you, but more you must confess that Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Secondly and finally you must place your complete trust and faith in Jesus Christ alone to save you.

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:11  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Rom 10:12  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Like I said earlier it is not enough to just say, “yeah I believe a man named Jesus lived thousands of years ago.” You must place your FAITH in Jesus Christ, that is not head knowledge that is something that must come from the heart. You must trust in Christ and Christ alone to save you. Intellectual assent to the fact that Jesus did in fact live is not enough.

Heb 4:1  Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

Heb 4:2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Its not about having knowledge of Jesus, its about trusting in Him to save you. Yes you must have knowledge of Him, but as the writer of Hebrews said, that knowledge must be, and I say again MUST be mixed with Faith. Faith is the key.

Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I could truly go on and on, but I will bring this to a close and simply ask the question again, do you sin cheaply? If so, please consider what I have said. I beg you, repent of your sins and ask Christ to save you before it is too late.

"The more God loves you, and the more you love God, the more expensive will you find it to sin. An ordinary sinner sins cheaply: the child of God sins very dearly."   -Charles Spurgeon

Billy Sunday"Take 15 minutes each day to listen to God talking to you; take

minutes each day to talk to God; take 15 minutes each day to talk to others about God." - Billy Sunday
Before he read a letter, looked at a paper or even read a telegram, he went first to the Bible, that the first impression of the day might be what he got directly from God. Maybe that would be a good thing for us to do also?

Then & Now
A preacher in those days, when he felt God called him to preach, didn't hunt up a college or seminary, he hunted up a good horse, took off across the country and began crying "Behold the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world"!   Today they look for the best paying job with the best retirement package.
